Thrive Therapy & Counseling had previously partnered with multiple marketing agencies, but none were able to effectively increase qualified leads from their core target audiences: college students and the LGBTQIA+ community. After working with another Google Ads agency that failed to deliver meaningful results, they turned to RevKey due to our specialized experience supporting therapists—particularly our proven success advertising to LGBTQIA+ and student populations.

Their primary goal was to generate more consistent inbound leads overall, with a strong emphasis on increasing visibility and engagement among local college students and LGBTQIA+ individuals, audiences they had struggled to reach beyond word-of-mouth referrals.

The Key

To address Thrive Therapy & Counseling’s lead generation challenges, we implemented a highly targeted digital strategy centered on a Google Ads Performance Max campaign. This campaign structure allowed us to reach users across multiple Google networks while refining audience signals to better align with their ideal client demographics. We conducted in-depth research on local competitors within the therapy space and built audience targeting around users engaging with Sacramento-based LGBTQIA+ organizations and student-specific web pages from area colleges.

In addition to paid media optimizations, we identified friction within the client intake process. Working closely with Ivy, we streamlined Thrive’s contact form, reducing it to a single page and limiting initial questions to less invasive information. This lowered barriers to entry and improved the likelihood of form completion from prospective clients.

The strategy focused on narrowing audience targeting while simplifying conversion pathways. Over a 2–3 month period, we were able to fully implement, test, and optimize these efforts, allowing campaign performance to stabilize and demonstrate measurable impact.
